The training- work •at Riccarton this morning was disposed of in bright conditions, but an easterly breeze was against the horses in the run down the straight. The absence of several trainers at Trentham left a gap, but the candidates for the North Canterbury meeting provided plenty of interest. All the galloping was done on the outside of the trial grass track, which was not quite so favourable to times as the tracks earlier in the week. ' ... • ...
