RANGITOTO TRAGEDY

SEARCH FOR MISSING MAORI POLICE HAMPERED BY RAIN. (Per United Press Association) TE KUITI, October 18. There has been no further development in the search for the missing Maori in connection with the Rangitoto tragedy. Tlie search by the police and settlers is being made more difficult on account of the heavy rains of the last few days as the bush is sodden. Inspector Lopdell, in charge of the Hamilton police, states that there will be no relaxation in the search, and additional police are being sent from Auckland. AH roads leading to the scene of the tragedy are being carefully watched. There are no roads on the eastern side, only dense bush.
