“WHAT! ‘BAXTER’S’ IN FRANCE?” A war-time incident was recalled recently when a member of the firm of A. and W. Baxter, Ltd., had a visitor who referred to an occasion in France during the war, when he had asked at the canteen for something for a cold. He was offered a bottle of Baxter’s Lung Preserver, when he made the astonished remark: “What! ‘Baxter’s” in France? ” The canteen authorities evidently realised that the New Zealand troops, being familiar with “Baxter’s," would be satisfied with nothing less. There is nothing so safe, so pleasing, and so sure as “Baxter’s” for dealing with all coughs, colds, especially with troublesome chest coughs and bronchial ailments. Always insist on “ Baxter’s,” the remedy with the tonic properties. All chemists and stores. Is 6d, 2s 6d, and 4e 6d.— Advt.
Four gold Roman coins of the fourth century and a gold ring found during excavations at Maiden Castle, Maiden Newton, Dorset, are to be the subject of a coroner’s inquest. If the Treasury claims the coins, the Prince of Wales, a* owner of the land, which is part of the Duchy of Cornwall, will be able to claim the market value, but it is expected that they will be handed over to the Dorset County Museum. The treasure was found at the entrance to a Roman temple.
