What is believed to be one of the largest youth hostels in the world has been opened at Hamburg, Germany. It is the Hein Godemvind, a converted barque of 2700 tons, formerly on the Chile service. The vessel has been equipped with sleeping accommodation for 500, day rooms, baths and showers, and space for bicycles. It is anchored near the St. Pauli landing stage, close to the best sightseeing parts of old Hamburg.
