UNDERGROUND CABLE
WORK OF DUPLICATION (British Official Wireless.) RUGBY, September 18, (Received Sept. 19, at 5.5 p.m.) Work on the additional underground telephone cable between London, Liverpool and Glasgow, which was begun in June, is proceedingly rapidly on the northern section route. Over 1000 men are continuously employed laying the cable, which includes four pairs of screened wires for special transmissions, particularly music demanding wide range frequencies.
