OBITUARY
<•> MR W. A. KELCHER (Pee United Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, September 19. The death has occurred of Mr William Alexander Kelcher, aged 62 years, of Balcairn, chairman of the Kowai County Council, and well known in public life in North Canterbury. He was a member of the Manchester Unity Lodge and a steward of the Amberley and North Canterbury Racing Clubs. MRS UNI TAIAROA The death occurred recently at Tanrautu, Canterbury, of Mrs Tini Taiaroa, widow of Mr H. K. taiaroa. Maoris from various parts of the Dominion assembled for the funeral,'which took place on September 8. Mrs Taiaroa was a member of the Ngaitahu tribe and had considerable influence over the Maoris. Her husband was a prominent chief in Otago in the early days, and Mr Jack Taiaroa, a son, was a prominent Otag» and New Zealand Rugby player.
