BRITAIN’S FINANCES
REVENUE AND EXPENDITURE RETURNS FOR PAST WEEK (British Official Wireless.) RUGBY, September 18. (Received Sept. 19, at 5.5 p.m.) The- Exchequer returns for the past week show that during the current financial year the total ordinary revenue, exclusive of ' 6elf-halancing : revenue, amounted on September 15 to £255,468,998, which is £2,223,213 less than the. amount collected at September 16 last year. The expenditure for the same period, exclusive of self-balancing items, was £310,873, which exceeds the amount expended at the corresponding date last year by £3,428,277.
