The City Council at' its' meeting tonight rescinded by 11 votes to 10 s. motion which: it fiad.carried by 10 votes to nine on April 19 to repeal the by-law prohibiting Sunday tennis on courts under the council's'control. '" Earlier in the evening the council had heard a deputation from: the Auckland Lawn Tennis Association, which stated that of the 48 clubs in the metropolitan area with a membership of 3300, 36, with a membership of 2400, had Sunday Elay. - Six of the remainder desired it, ut were debarred. The. other six, with a-" membership of 500, did riot" desire it, and two of these were debarred.
