INSULL LODGED IN GAOL CHICAGO, May 8. Samuel Insull was placed under a 200,000-dollar bond to-day on charges of using the United States mails fraudulently, and of violating the Bankruptcy Act. He was unable to furnish the bonds and was placed in gaol. ORDERED INTO HOSPITAL. CHICAGO, May 7. (Received May 9, at 9.30 p.m.) Insull lost his composure and broke down and wept when he learned that he must stay behind prison bars until his trial on numerous indictments of larceny and embezzlement involving some 87.000.000 dollars.
