SWEPT BY FIRE
HISTORIC RUMANIAN TOWN DISTRESSING SCENES BUCHAREST, May 8. (Received May 9, at 10 p.m.) The historic town of Campulung is on fire. The famous monastery and 100 houses have 'already been destroyed. There were distressing scenes in the hospital, where scores of patients left their beds and fled into the streets. A special train with four fire engines has been despatched from Bucharest. The rapid spread of the fire is attributed to drought.
