THE WEATHER
There was some improvement in the weather yesterday morning, when Dm conditions were fine, though the sky remained overcast. A light, drizzling ram, however, commenced to fall in the afternoon. The temperature at noon was 46 degrees, and the maximum during the day was 48 degrees. A light south-east wind was blowing. The barometer registered 30.42 in in the afternoon. CONDITIONS IN THE NORTH. (Special to Daily Times.) AUCKLAND, May 9. There was a continuation of fine, sunny weather to-day, but a moderate southwest wind made conditions very cold. The barometer shows very little movement and registers SO.OOin, WELLINGTON, May 0. Wellington experienced another cold, squally day to-day. A strong southerly wind blew throughout the day, the highest gust being one of 54 miles an hour at 2.20 pan. The temperature at 4 p.m. was 46.1 degrees, the maximum during the’day being 4G.2 degrees. CHRISTCHURCH, May 9. The weather to-day was again coid, overcast, and showery. The barometer fell slightly to 30.19 in. The maximum temperature was 47.6. A strong southwest wind was blowing.
