W. JARVIS NOT INCLUDED Although the Otago Swimming Centre has, in view of W. J. Jarvis’s outstanding performances and the fact that the centre was willing to launch an appeal to defray his expenses, urged the claims of the Otago swimmer to inclusion in the New Zealand team for the Empire Games, the New Zealand Olympic and Empire Games Association has definitely refused to approve of Jarvis’s nomination. For the past mouth the Otago Centre has been in touch with the association, and has made numerous requests that Jarvis’s name should be included in the list of nominations, but no definite reply was received until yesterday, when the secretary of the centre (Mr E, C. Isaacs) received the following telegram from Mr H, Amos, the secretary of the New Zealand Olympic and Empire Games Association: —“Regret association cannot include Jarvis, Writing.” CYCLIST SELECTED. ; „(Peb United Press Association.) WELLINGTON, May 9. The cyclist F, T. Grose has been included in the New. Zealand team for the Empire Games.
