AUSTRALIAN TRADE
APPOINTMENT OF COMMISSIGNER DUTIES TO COMMENCE SHORTLY. (Peb United Press Association.) WELLINGTON, May 7. Wellington will be the headquarters of the first Australian Trade Commissioner in New Zealand, Mr R. H. Nesbitt, who was recently appointed to _ that position by the Federal Cabinet with a view to effecting closer liaison between the Commonwealth and the Dominion. It is expected that Mr Nesbitt will arrive in Wellington about the _ end of June or early in July. He will have an assistant commissioner and a staff, and will take over the work now carried out in New Zealand by the Australian National Travel Association. On his arrival Mr S. W. M. Stilling, New Zealand representative of Australian National Travel Association, will return to Australia, and it is understood that he will be interstate tourist and publicity officer for the New South Wales Government Tourist Department. The term of Mr Nesbitt’a appointment is five years, and his salary is 11500, with an entertainment allowance of £3OO.
