INTERPROVINCIAL EIGHTS

SUGGESTED INCREASE IN PRfzE MONEY. (Per United Press Association.) WELLINGTON, December 14. Although it was considered too early to make definite plans in connection with the interprovincial eights at Easter, a suggestion put forward at a meeting of the Wellington Rowing Association that the prize money for the contest should be increased from £25 to £SO met with general approval, and it was decided to co-operate with the Regatta Committee with a view to bringing the increase into effect. The proposal of the Wellington Association was that the winning crew should receive £35, second £lO, and third £5. It was felt that an increase in the prize money would be appreciated by the other associations, Ss it would be of some assistance towards their travelling expenses.
