COMPENSATION FOR WIDOW f • COURT AWARDS £IOOO. (Peb United Press Association.) NAPIER, December 13. The Arbitration Court to-day awarded Mrs Olive Emma -Tonkin, of Christchurch, and her child £IOOO compensation for the death of Mrs Tonkin’s husband, Horace John Tonkin, .who was killed by the earthquake at Roachs, Ltd., Hastings, in February, 1931. This is the first case to have been decided. Several other eases are believed to have been settled out of court.
