WEST OTAGO NOTES
(From Our Own Correspondent.) TAPANUI, December 11. CRICKET. In the Tuapeka Cricket Association’s match, played at Miller’s Flat on Saturday in extremely hot weather, Tapanui defeated the home , side by eight runs. Miller’s Flat batted first and compiled 152" runs, the chief scorers being Buswell (28), Mosley (28), Riach (23), Treacy (15), and Klcber (13, not out). Mackia with five wickets for 30 was Tapanui’s most successful bowler. Tapanui passed Miller’s Flat score with two wickets in hand, after a poor start, six wickets being down for 91. On K. Rodger joining Mackic the best partnership of the afternoon was established, Mackie making 37 and Rodger 31. M'Feeters (20) and Kane (24) were the other main scorers, the side being dismissed for 100 runs. Bowling for the losers Treacy, Walker, and Ferguson each took three wickets.
