A Maori named Thompson Waiwiri, aged 20, pleaded guilty to-day to a charge of intoxication while in charge of a motor lorry and was fined £2O and prohibited from holding a license for 12 months. It was revealed that Waiwiri had never held a license. He; admitted having had 15 “ handles ” of beer in a few hours at Manaia township prior to colliding with a stationary vehicle.
