MR AND MRS MOLLISON
RECEPTION IN NEW YORK BROADWAY THRONGED. NEW YORK, August 1. Behind screaming police sirens and under a generous dousing of confetti and ticker tape, Mr and Mrs Mollison rode the Hero’s Route to the City Hall today for an official reception. The police estimated that 200,000 people lined Broadway from Battery Park to the ‘ City Hall, shouting: “ Cheerio, Amy ! Attaboy ! ” Mr Mollison wore bandages on his forehead. Gold medals were presented to Mr and Mrs Mollison by the Mayor (Mr John O’Brien).
