PRODUCTION IN BRITAIN GOVERNMENT ASSISTANCE (British Official Wireless.) (United Press Association.) (By Electric Telegraph—Copyright.) RUGBY, July 29. (Received July 31, at 5.5 p.m.) The Goal Stabilisation Council states that a new market for coal, as large and valuable as that represented by die entire British gas industry, is in prospect as a result of the Government's encouragement of home-produced petrol. The possibilities of this development were also considered yesterday by the South Wales Industrial Development Council, which decided to set up a committee of experts, coal owners, and miners' representatives to explore the question of building plant for the production of oil from coal under guaranteed preference scheme.
