THREE WOMEN INJURED

CAR AND LORRY COLLIDE ' LATTER VEHICLE OVERTURNED. (Per United Press Association.) HASTINGS, June 26. Three \ women were injured when a motor lorry containing 20 passengers from Napier, on their way to a religious meeting at Hastings, was struck by a motor car on the Napier-Hastings road in the vicinity of the Wlmkatu turn off, a few minutes before 7 o'clock last night. All three injured were admitted to the Napier Hospital, and their condition is reported as satisfactory. The names of the injured are:— Mrs Ada James, aged 57, of Burlington road, Napier; deep scalp wounds. Mrs Isabella M'Taggart, aged 57, of Milton road, Napier; a severe cut on the left side of the forehead. Mrs Nellie M'Ewen, aged 54, of Ossian street, Port Ahuriri; fracture of the upper arm. The motor lorry, driven by R. bcott, was travelling towards Hastings when the accident occurred. The car, which was travelling in the direction of Napier, was driven by Charles M'Leod, of Wanganui. The front of the car struck the driving side of the lorry with such force that the lorry turned over on its side.
