Holloway) was in the chair. \ A letter was received from the league's delegate to the New Zealand Council advising that the North \y. South Island match would probably be played. The remaining games to be played were North Auckland, Hawke's Bay, Wellington 'and West Coast. The game had. made rapid headway in Hawke's Bay, The secretary of the New Zealand Referees' Association wrote enclosing a copy of the annual report and advising date of the annual meeting. The annual report suggested that a conference of dele* gates from the different centres be held in Wellington during the year for the purpose of arriving at uniformity in the rules. The referees reported that they were well pleased with the rule that the halfback must place the ball in the. scrum. Mr L. M'Donald wrote advising that he had been compelled to retire from active participation in tbe game, and offering his services as a referee.—lt was decided to,write to Mr M'Donald thanking him for his offer and advise him that his services would be availed' of when required.
