The monthly meeting of the Morn iVig" ton School Committee was held on liaPsday, Mr A. G. Osborne presiding \ a full attendance of members. A motiof* t\f sympathy was passed with the relative fs of Mr J. R. Rutherford, a former heai W master of the school, and with the famil. r of Russell .Thompson, who had been .-I pupil of the infant department. Plans bif the proposed alterations to the gymnasium 1 stage were submitted and explained by Mr Tombs. It was decided to caji, tenders. The headmaster’s report that there had been new enrolments since, ‘the winter vacation. Adverse weather: conditions had seriously affected the attendance. The following were the figures for the month:—First week, average, 565; second, 538; third, 522r01l number, 590. The school medical officer examined the pupils in the first week of the term, and the department’s inspectors begdn their annual inspection this week. The Radiant Health Club held a meeting on June 12, Mrs Brooks (president) was in the chair. The subject was “ Principles of Radiant Health.” Miss Bott led the silence with reference to the conference in London. The principles of radiant living, it was explained, contained a message of love and hope for the world of to-day, which in its present need seemed to be crying aloud for relief from its worldliness. A message of health and happiness must be given out in the spirit of conquest to extend the threefold principles of radiant health—viz., right thinking, right breathing, and right eating.
