WELLINGTON FREE AMBULANCE

NO'REBATE ON PETROL. (Per United Press Association.) WELLINGTON, June 15. Advice that no rebate is to be allowed to the Wellington Free Ambulance upon petrol used in the course of its service has been received from the Acting Prime Minister (Mr J. G. Coates). A request for exemption from the tax was made to the Minister last month on the ground that the Free Ambulance service was purely humanitarian, and was being run solely in the interests of the sick and injured, and was in no sense a profitmaking concern.
