ALLEGED SLANDER
SALE OF CHEMICAL FORMULA FURTHER EVIDENCE HEARD (Per United Press Association.) WELLINGTON, June 15. The claim for £2500 damages in which Reginald Charles Boddie, sales organiser, of Wellington, alleges slander against James DicKson Sievwright, retired, also of Wellington, was continued in the Supreme Court to-day before Mr Justice Ostler. The plaintiff complains ot statements alleged to have been made falsely and maliciously by the defendant to one H. J. Lockyer affecting the plaintiffs credit and reputation in connection with the business of a syndicate for the manufacture of a chemical preparation in which the parties were associated. Evidence in rebuttal of that given by the defendant yesterday was called. His Honor several times questioned the relevancy of the evidence. Several witnesses testified that they had always found Boddie quite straightforward in his dealings with them as selling agents of the chemical preparation. The hearing was unfinished when the adjournment was taken. The case will be continued to-morrow.
