Quantities wreckage have lately been coming ashore in the Koseland and Portholland districts of Cornwall. The goods include casks of wine and sheet rubber. It is supposed that the wreckage is from the cargo of vessels sunk during the war by enemy action. Many vessels have been lost off the Cornish coast, and, according to the view of seafaring men, recent heavy gales from west and southwest have caused the rotting holds of sunken ships to buret and liberate their contents.
