THE ST. KILDA MAYORALTY

TO THE EDITOR. Sib,— ln the nominations for the St. Kilda mayoralty I was very pleased to see the name of Mr A. Smiley. I was much surprised to see the present Mayor standing again, because I think it is about time we had a change in the management of the borough, and he should, I think, let his position pass over to another. As for Cr Longworth, probably it would be better for him to retire from the contest in favour of Mr Smiley. What we require is new blood, because at present it looks as though a strong Mayor is needed to lead the council and help it_ to come to better decisions. The glaring miscarriage of justice in the case of a late unemployment official shows that a change is necessary.—l am, etc., St. Kilda Tip.
