The Senate approved of the section ri the inflation proposal authorising the President to reduce the gold content of the dollar. Under an amendment" made shortly before the vote, this section does not affect silver coinage. An amendment was inserted by the Benate authorising the President to remonetise silver at any ratio to gold he ■ees fit, and that remained in the Bill.
