WORLD-WIDE INCREASE GENEVA, March 31. The Labour Office statistics for the first quarter of 1933 show a world-wide increase in unemployment except in Australia, Canada, Germany, and Poland, which decreased. The decrease in the last two was partly due to the exclusion of workless whose benefit I'ights had expired. New Zealand showed a 13 per cent, increase. FOREST CONSERVATION. WORK FOR CITY PEOPLE. (Received April 2, at 5.5 p.m.) The President (Mr Franklin Roosevelt) made his Forest Conservation Employment programme stand by signing the Bill, while his assistants rushed to make ready for enlisting thousands of unemployed, from the cities.
