When the new White Star liner Georgia sailed on her maiden voyage from Liverpool recently thousands of listeners-in were able to imagine that they were sailing in the ship. Ten microphones were fitted in various parts of the vessel. Ihe bustle of passengers and porters, the noise of engines, and many other sounds were plainly heard by landsmen hundreds of miles away. The Georgia, which has a tonnage of 27,000, is the biggest motor vessel built in Britain. About one in every ten of the householders of England has a wireless license.
