On Wednesday night the noted comedian, Charlie Chaplin, will be seen in the comedy romance “ City Lights,’’ which will be shown at Ranfurly. Charlie Chaplin is said to have worked ah entire new set of original “gags” quite different from the brand of humour of any other comedian in this picture. The love of the pathetic little tramp for the blind flower girl gives a full measure of drama. Virginia Cherrill, a Chicago society girl, makes her debut as the flower irl Patrons will deligt in the adveng-. girl. I’ftrons will delight in the adventures of Charlie Chaplin as the whimsical vagabond who made his bid for fame and fortune by becoming a street cleaner, then a prize-fighter, and finally a man about town. The picture will be shown in the afternoon at 3 o’clock and also at night.
