ALEXANDRA NOTES
(From Our Own Correspondent.) ALEXANDRA, May 5. The quarterly meeting of the • Central Otago Presbytery was held in the Jubilee Hall on Tuesday. There was a full attendance of ministers from the various charges in the district, and there were also present office-bearers from practically every congregation in Central Otago. The moderator - (the Rev. V. Keane) presided. The Rev. J. S. Murray- (Queenstown) was elected moderator for the ensuing 12 months. Mr Keane welcomed the new moderator, and thanked the members of the presbytery for their kindness towards him during his term of office. Before retiring he extended a hearty welcome to the Rev. J. Patterson, the newly-appointed minister of Roxburgh, and to Mr Stumble, home missionary at Arrowtown. After the regular presbytery business had been transacted a conference of office-bearers was held, and some excellent addresses were given by the various speakers.’ In the afternoon the presbytery met with the members of the P.W.M.U., then in session in the church, to hear a paper by the Rev. J. S. Murray on "Youth Work. The speaker made an earnest appeal to those present to take a. greater interest in the youth work of the church. FOOTBALL.
