ILLUSTRATED TRAVEL TALKS
, Following his Auckland and • Christchurch successes, Mr E. fleadlani Greenhow, the distinguished travel-writer, of the London Authors’ Society, will commence a short season of recitals at the Concert Chamber on Wednesday. These will consist of magnificently illustrated travel-talks, with , musical items, of countries and places he has visited. Mr Greahhow has been associated for some yeriJl: with the late Major Gladwynne Nutting, of ; the Royal Photographic Society. Together: they have visited many countries, and have combined in .photography and literary, art to convey a;vivid impression of foreign lands of Historic •importance and also of the Brtsh Isles. ;
|On Wednesday evening the subject will be “ London,vfhe Magnificent,” and, on Thursday, “ Bonnie Scotland.” Each recital will be profusely illustrated with fiand-coloured photography taken expressly for these entertainments. Mr Greenhow, in addition, will render nightly appropriate programme of pianoforte solos and songs, j The gifted recitatist’s Auckland season extended to over 20 performances, whilst at Christchurch he achieved a similar success. His great versatility evoked enthusiastic applause, and a large amount of valuable 1 information was conveyed in an informal and original, manner.”
