GERMAN PRESIDENCY

ELECTION TO BE HELD BERLIN, January 13. (Received Jan. 13, at 11 p.m.) Following the refusal of the Hitlerites and the German National Party to support Dr Bruening’s plan of extending President Hindenburg’s term of office by a Reichstag resolution, the election will proceed in the usual way. The Hitlerites' support of President Hindenburg’s candidature is regarded as certain,; thus his election is assured. His only opponent will probably be the Communist, Herr Thaelmann, who in 1925 received 1,930,000 votes.
