DEEP SEA FISH

HEAVY HAULS IN BRITAIN LONDON, December 27. No fewer than 8,022,438 cwt of deepsea fish have already been landed this year in England and Wales from British trawlers, according tp official reports. Cod heads the list of catches with 3,038,130 cwt during the first nine months of this year. This is 250,000 cwt more than for the corresponding period last year, and represents 42 per cent, of the total deep-sea catch. Haddock has not proved quite so plentiful as last year, its catch totalling 1,420,937 cwt, a drop of over 330,000 cwt. The third largest catch is hake, which conies a long way behind cod and haddock with 640,513 cwt, a slight increase over the first nine months of last year.
