NIGHT FLYING AT CROYDON LADY BAILEY PRACTISING. LONDON, December 20. Lady Bailey, the first airwoman in Britain to secure a “blind flying” certificate, is now practising night flying at Croydon in order to qualify for a full commercial air pilot’s license, which will enable her to pilot even the giant air liners of the Continental and Empire air routes. THE SOUTHERN STAR. LETTERS FOR RETURN FLIGHT. LONDON, December 29. The Post Office announces that letters will be accepted for the Southern Star’s return flight until January 5. ENGLAND TO AUSTRALIA. ANOTHER FLIGHT BEGUN. LONDON, December 29. .Mr Jeffrey Jenkins left for Australia in a De Soutter monoplane with a 120 h.p. Gipsy engine. He is flying in easy stages. LONG-DISTANCE RECORD, FLIGHT TO CAPE NEXT MONTH. (British Official Wireless.) RUGBY, December 29. Careful inspection revealed that only minor damage was suffered by the Fairey long-distance monoplane during her recent forced landing near Saffron Walden. It is now ascertained that she will be in readiness to attempt to recover the non-stop long-distance flight record to the Cape in January.
