FLOODS SPREADING

CONCERN IN NEW SOUTH WALES HUGE AREA UNDER WATER (United Press Association.) (By Electric Telegraph—Copyright.) SYDNEY, July 13. As the result of the heavy rain the flood waters of Lake Urana have covered 15,000 acres to a depth of 10 to 15 feet. The residents want the Water Conservation Department to cut the dam at the entrance of the lake to release the water. The townspeople are'becoming alarmed, as the water is gradually backing up round the town. It is still raining lightly. There is some talk of direct action in cutting the dam down. The people at Jerilderie, Moulamein, and Deniliquin, towns lower down the river, object to the dam being cut, as their property would then be flooded.
