FIRE IN GARAGE
BUSES EXTENSIVELY DAMAGED (Per United Press Association.) WELLINGTON, July 13. Three large buses belonging to the Kclburn and Karori Bus Company were extensively damaged in a firm’s garage by fire at 2 o’clock this morning. The fire spread from a small service station alongside, and considerable damage was also done to the firm's plant. The service is being carried on by two buses which were parked elsewhere and by borrowed buses. LOCAL CALLS. The City Fire Brigade received a call at 11.35 a.m. yesterday to the residence of Mrs Bertha Dingwall, 22 Woodhaugh street, where fire had broken out in a detached washhouse at the rear of the premises. The blaze, which was caused by lighted paper coming into contact with clothes, was extinguished before it had done much damage. The building was insured in the Standard Office. A bush fire at Robin Hood quarry claimed the attention of the Roslyn Brigade at 6.19 p.m., and an hour later the brigade received! a second call to a chimney fire at 6 Allison crescent.
