THE POSITION IN BRITAIN GOVERNMENT CRITICISED NO CONSTRUCTIVE POLICY (United Press Association.) (By Electric Telegraph—Copyright.) LONDON, June 18. (Received June IS, at 9 p.m.) Commenting on the unemployment figures, which total 2,602,898 at a time when they should have shown a seasonal improvement, The Times says: “There is still no sign that the Government has any constructive policy to help industry aud provide work and wages. There is still no sign that it has taken to heart the lessons of the crisis in Australia.” The editorial strongly urges the adoption of the principle of co-operation and advocates that groups of firms which maintain selling organisations overseas Should recognise that the idea that the dominions devote themselves exclusively to the production of food and raw materials is out of date.
