MANIOTOTO HOSPITAL BOARD.

itfr ■ —— A meeting of the Maniototo Hospital Board was held on the 12th Inst., and was attended by Messrs Davis (chairman), Aitken, Morgan, Nicolson, Lewis, Dowling, Strong, and R. Scott. The medical superintendent, Dr Eudey, was also in attendance. The chairman, in a brief speech, welcomed the board members to the first meeting held In the new year. CORRESPONDENCE. Messrs Hayes and Sons, Oturehua, submitted an offer for the supply and erection of a ram pumping plant.—lt was resolved that nothing be done with regard to the purchase in the meantime. DOCTOR’S REPORT. The doctor reported that there were two males and six females in the hospital at the date of the last return, and four males and fourteen females had since been admitted, making 26 treated. Four males and fifteen females had been discharged, leaving two males and five females under treatment. Six babies were born in the hospital during the month. The doctor read a report relating to the supply of an X-ray plant, and the report concluded by recommending the purchase ftf a plant.—lt was moved by Mr Aitken, seconded by Mr Morgan, and carried, that the Health Department be advised that the board is considering the purchase of a plant at an approximate cost of £SOO. The advantages of securing the services of an extra nurse were outlined by the doctor, and after the matter had been fully, discussed it was resolved that it be left over until the next meeting. Mr Aitken read a report relating to the activities at the Waipiata Sanatorium, and a hearty vote of thanks was accorded to him for the information. * The question of a new agreement with the doctor was brought up by Mr Strong, but it was decided that no further action bo taken until full particulars of the cost of erection of the doctor’s residence had been supplied.
