TRAGEDY IN BAVARIA
NUMBER OF POLICE KILLED. ENGULFED BY AVALANCHE. (United Press Association.) (By Electric Telegraph—Copyright.) BERLIN, January 21. An avalanche engulfed a squad of Bavarian police who were practising on skis in the mountains at Badoelz, Two hundred rescuers, working throughout the night with torches, in imminent peril themselves, dug out at daybreak the bodies of nine men who had been frozen to death. Six are unaccounted for.
