The Shaw, Savin steamer Pakeha arrived at Lyttelton on Wednesday from the Wanganui roadstead. She will proceed later to Picton, Wellington and Auckland, to complete loading for London. , She Is scheduled to clear Auckland finally on February 2. The tanker Splrila arrived at Auckland last Saturday from Ballkpapan. The vessel brought a full cargo of bulk oil for the Shell Company. The Splrila is a steel tanker of 5695 tons and is owned by the Anglo-Saxon Petroleum Company. She was built at New-cnstle-on-Tyne In 1922. The C. and D. .Lino motor ship Port liuon arrived at Wellington on Wednesday from Napier to complete her Homeward loading. She is scheduled to .leave Wellington finally Jo-day for London, via the Panama canal. The Ulimaroa, which arrived at Wellington on Tuesday morning from Sydney, brought transhipments from the following vessels: Mooltan, Eridan, Oder, Moldavia, Goulburn, Changte, Alsuta Maru, and Ormonde. CARGO EX MOTOR SHIP ENTON. The motor ship Enton arrived at Lyttelton yesterday from Wellington to discharge New York cargo. It is understood that the Enton transhipped her Dunedin cargo at Wellington, In which case she will proceed from Lyttelton to Noumea and Rabaul. THE CANADIAN CONSTRUCTOR. The Canadian Constructor, which sailed from Auckland for New York, Boston and Halifax on December 4, Is reported to have reached Halifax on January 15. TAMAROA AT SOUTHAMPTON. Cable advice received by the Shaw, Savin Company states that the Tamaroa, which left Wellington on December 17, arrived at Southampton last Monday afternoon. O. TONGARIRO LEAVES CARACAS BAY. Tho Tongarlro, which left Auckland on December 24 for London, sailed from Caracas Bay on January 17. ' PORT DUNEDIN DELAYED. Messrs J. W. Swift and Co. advise that tho C. and D. Line’s motor ship Port Dunedin, which is at present at Wellington unloading cargo from Glasgow and Liverpool, has been delayed by heavy rain. She is expected to sail, to-day for Lyttelton and Dunedin, and is due here on Tuesday to complete discharging her cargo. The Port Dunedin will afterwards proceed to Oamaru to commence Homeward loading.

CARGO FROM NEW YORK. The A. and A. Line advises that the motor ship Ashburton, which Is scheduled to leave New York on February 15 for New Zealand, will discharge at Auckland, Wellington, Lyttelton, Dunedin and Wanganui. WESTMORELAND LEAVES COLON. The Federal Company has received cable advice that the Westmoreland, which left Wellington on December 24 for London, Avonmouth, Liverpool and Glasgow, cleared Colon on January 14. <j» ALTERATION TO LIGHT. The Marine Department notifies that the character of the light at Rangltoto, in the Auckland Harbour, has been altered from occulting red every 10 seconds to flashing red every 12 seconds, thus: Flash, 3 seconds; eclipse, 9 seconds. MAIMOA LEAVES LIVERPOOL. Cable advice has been received that the Shaw, Savlll steamer Maimoa left Liverpool on January 17 with cargo for discharge at Auckland, Wellington, Lyttelton and Dunedin. She is due at Auckland on February 24 and at Dunedin about March 8. WITHIN WIRELESS RANGE. Chatham Islands.—Ruapehu, Herminlus, Cambridge, Cumberland, Corinthlc. —»■ SURREY FROM LIVERPOOL. The Federal Line steamer Surrey arrived at Dunedin yesterday morning from Glasgow and Liverpool, via Colon, Panama, Auckland, Napier, Wellington and Lyttelton. She was berthed at the Victoria wharf, where the remainder of her Home cargo is being discharged. The cargo was loaded at Avonraouth, Glasgow and Liverpool, and the vessel sailed from Liverpool on November 22. Very stormy conditions, with westerly gales and high head seas, prevailed during the first week from port, but generally fair weather was experienced during the remainder of the voyage. She arrived at Colon on December 11, and cleared Panama the same day. Captain A. Lettlngton is in command and he' has associated with him the following officers Chief, Mr R. Rees; second, Mr D. Murray; third, Mr F. Lock; fourth, Mr H. Mackililcan; chief engineer, Mr G. Blacklock; second, Mr O. Jones; third, Mr H. Musker; fourth, Mr R. Murray; fifth, Mr W. Taylor; sixth, Mr A. Kermos; seventh, Mr A. Fowls; chief refrigerating engineer, Mr H. Henderson; second, Mr R. Mulrhead; wireless operator, Mr R. Hunn; steward-in-charge, Mr J. Jesse. The Surrey’s future movements have not been announced. PERSONAL ITEMS. Captain A. Copland is now master on the Progress. Mr F. Lawson has relieved Mr J. Bald as first mate on the same vessel. The Katoa, which was recommissioned in Dunedin on Wednesday, is under the command of Captain W. Whitcfleld. His deck officers are:—-Chief, Mr P. E. Ryan; second, Mr E. G. K. Meatyard; third, Mr E. V. Condon. Captain G. A. Gray has taken command of the Kalmanawa, relieving Captain G. B. Corby for instructions. Captain A. H. Davcy, of the Narbada, is now on holidays at Auckland, and Captain W. W. Hender, formerly of the Waiotapu, Is now in command. Captain A. H. Prosser has taken command of the Waimarino, relieving Captain F. L. G. Jaunay for Instructions. „ Mr.G. W. Kent, chief officer on the Walnui, has been invalided ashore at Dunedin, and Mr B. F. Fisher has taken his place temporarily. Captain N. S.
