WELLINGTON, December 29. In contrast with the bright sunshine ot Sunday, the skies were clouded over in W ellington to-day, with driving mists over the lulls. The wind was from the north. The temperature was warm, CHRISTCHURCH, ■' December 29. The weather to-day was pleasant, with a bieeze from the north-cast and a cooler temperature, the maximum being 68deg. The barometer, which has been falling steadily all day, now has a rising tendency, the reading being 29.78 in. GISBORNE, December 29. For the sixth day in succession the maximum temperature at Gisborne exceeded OOdeg., a peak of 98deg, being recorded at mid-day yesterday.
