Thomas (Dominions Secretary), in answer to a question in the House of Commons on the appointment of a High Commissioner to Australia, said he intended to renew the question of representation of the United Kingdom in Australia, and could not make any statement at present. Replying to a question about the appointment of Governors to the Australian States, he said that the Imperial Conference conclusions regarding the appointment of Governors did not apply to the Governors of States.
