QUEENSLAND CRICKET

SHEFFIELD SHIELD TEAM. THE ASSOCIATION DEFIED. < (United Press Association 1 .) (By Electric Telegraph—Copyright.) MELBOURNE, December 18. At a meeting of the players of the Queensland Sheffield Shield cricket team it was decided to defy the Queerisland Association and appoint their own selectors. The trouble dates back to last season, when the Queensland sejectors in Brisbane insisted on choosing a team for each game by telegraph—a complete departure from the practice of the other State teams. Leo O’Connor, who was then captain, became involved and dropped out of the game. The players are of the opinion that it is impossible for the Queensland selectors to keep in touch with the doings of the, players, and have accordingly appointed three members of the team as selectors.
