PROTEST FROM CHURCHES. MANIFESTO ON GAMBLING. (United Press Association.) (By Electric Telegraph—Copyright.) LONDON, December 1. The Council of Christian Ministers, apropos of the Dublin sweepstake, has issued a manifesto calling on ministers to combat the widening interest in betting. It declares that no charitable need justifies resort to gambling.
