AN EXAMPLE OF TEAM WORK,
Reference was made at the meeting of the Dunedin Manufacturers’ Association last night to the success of the recent exhibition and carnival at the Drill Hall in aid of the Cancer Research Campaign, and appreciation was expressed of the team work which made success possible. The president (Mr W. G. Kindley) congratulated exhibitors on their displays/ especially in view of the fact that they had responded to the appeal at such short notice. They had rallied round, he said, at a very inopportune time as far as their businesses were concerned. The energy of the chairman of the committee (Mr James Hogg) had been remarkable, and the convenors of the sub-committees had all done their work well. The whole city, in fact, had thrown .its weight into the effort, and there had been many offers of support. Special reference was made to the work of Messrs J. Stark, Arthur Barnett, J. Taylor, and J. Y. Love. A tribute was also paid by the chairman to the excellent organisation of the Otago Women’s Club. Prom the exhibitors’ viewpoint the effort must have good results, and the clearing of a profit of about £3OOO was something of which the manufacturers could be proud. Mr Hogg described the effort as one of the finest examples of team work that' he had ever seen in Dunedin. Mr J. Sutherland Boss expressed the appreciation of the manufacturers as a whole of the work of the committee, find Mr Taylor paid a tribute to the loyalty and co-operation of the members.
