The trial has been concluded of ten prominent Bengalis, including the well-known doctors, N. Roy and B. Bose, who were charged with conspiracy to mnrder Europeans and police officers.. Eight were convicted, Roy and Bose each receiving a sentence of 20 years’ transportation, and the others lesser sentences. The special tribunal decided unanimously that the evidence proved beyond doubt the existence of a conspiracy with the declared object of manufacturing bombs and collecting arms and ammuni" tion, and the deliberate purpose of these activities was the murder of Europeans and police officers. They found that the conspiracy had existed for some months and was .responsible for several bomb outrages.
