UNEMPLOYED WORKERS’ VENTURE ( Special to Daily Tjuks.i CHRISTCHURCH, November 2S. The Governor-General (Lord Bledisloe) has intimated to the Organised Unemployed and Relief Workers’ Committee that he cannot take shares in the cooperative fish business promoted by the committee on the grounds that he could 'not make a discrimination in favour of such a venture, though he wished it success. The shares are not profit-bearing, the amount being really a donation. The ax rangements for the venture are now* well in hand, and the shares are bein'* taken up freely. Application for a loan under the Fishing Industry Promotion Act has been made, and arrangements for supplies of fish from Dunedin and Timaru, as well as locally, have been made.
