FINE OF £3O IMPOSED I (Per United Press Association.) _ ASHBURTON, November 28. s Francis Joseph Hanrahan wag fined £3O for illegally selling liquor. The police stated that in four hours one Sunday 33 people called and took "away l liquor quite openly. The defence was that the defendant was collecting debts for a Christchurch firm of wine and spirit merchants and he gave liquor to a boarder at his wife s boarding house for the former’s sick wife.
