NEWSPAPERS CONDEMNED. THE ARCHBISHOP'S CIRCULAR. (United Press Association.) (By Electric Telegraph—Copyright.) MALTA, May 0.The. archbishop- has. issued a circular declaring that for the reason known to anybody with a spark of Christian sentiment he condemns the newspapers the Malta Chronicle and the Ixvemx (meariing the Sun), which is Lord Strickland’s paper, and. prohibits, under penalty of mortal sin, their reading or sale. If they continue publication in the same tenor he will canonical penalties on the proprietors, editors, and associates.
